[Cask sample, bottled May 1999]
Opaque plum colour.
Quite dumb, with a hint of cream, rhubarb, plums, lots of spirit and spice, the brandy still quite obvious.
Very full bodied and intense, with sweet plum and mulberry flavours. High acidity and lovely soft tannins. Camphor, cinnamon and cloves combine with aniseed flavours on the long finish.
A bit more medicinal and daunting than the 1992 and 1994 (remember that this is a VERY young port) but should be very good in 10 to 15 years.
